Our ministry in practice

Contact work - friendships of trust. Our staff and volunteer leaders accompany young people in Switzerland - if possible, throughout their lives. We care for them by connecting with them and building friendships of trust - at their schools and in their neighborhoods, at their soccer games or wherever they are. We call this "contact work," and it's at the heart of what we do.

(Service) Club - A place where young people are welcome. The Young Life Club is a "party with a purpose." It is a place for young people to be seen, have fun and fellowship, play games, sing songs, and perhaps hear about God's love and the person of Jesus Christ for the first time. At Service Clubs, we put the Christian faith into action in a very practical way - we plan and carry out service projects with our young friends to serve the local community.

Life Groups - a place to learn more. For our young friends that want to learn more about the Christian faith, we offer weekly Life Group meetings. It is a time for teenagers to read the Bible with their leaders and friends and to ask their questions about the Christian faith in a safe environment.

(Service) Camp - the best week of your life. Many young people choose to spend a week or 3 days at camp with their leader. For some it is the first time they leave home. The camp is incredibly good - good food, good games, good music, dancing and laughing. During the day there are many different fun activities. At service camps, we offer projects through which we service the local community together. At the end of the day, there is usually a classic Young Life Club. Our goal is for young people that come to camp with us to have the best week of their lives and to give them a new motivation and perspective for their everyday lives back home.

Adults Who Care — Committee. Young Life is making a difference in the lives of kids around the world because we are supported by adults who care about young people in their community. These caring adults provide logistical support, financial support and emotional support for our volunteers and staff.
